How The Language Cradle handles your information across our website and mobile app.

Who we are

The Language Cradle is operated by International Business & Language Consulting (IBLC), based at 9th Floor, Regus, PanJam Building, 60 Knutsford Boulevard, New Kingston, Jamaica. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it when you use our website (thelanguagecradle.vercel.app) and our mobile app, The Language Cradle.

Information we collect

Website. When you book a consultation, request a translation quote, or send a message, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and the content of your enquiry. We only collect what you submit.

Mobile app. You can browse the app without an account. If you choose to create an account or sign in, we collect your email address (and any name you provide) to manage that account; you may also continue as a guest. The app does not track you for advertising and does not sell your data.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit through the website to respond to your enquiry, arrange consultations or quotes, deliver the services you request, and keep in touch about your programme. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share your information only with team members and trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our website host and email provider), and only as needed to respond to you. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep enquiry and client information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal and administrative requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have given us. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses only the cookies needed for basic functionality and, where enabled, the Google Translate widget you choose to activate. The mobile app uses no cookies and no analytics.

Children

Our services are intended for adults and for learners enrolled through their parents, guardians, schools, or employers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with a revised date at the top.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for activity under any account you create, and for keeping your login details secure. You agree to use the app and website only for lawful purposes and not to misuse, disrupt, or attempt unauthorised access to them.

Service provided as is

The app, website, and content are provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any course information, schedule, quote, or output will be accurate or achieved.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Language Cradle and IBLC, and their owners, officers, employees, and partners, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app, website, or services. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us in the three (3) months before the claim or ten thousand Jamaican dollars (J$10,000). Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Language Cradle and IBLC and their representatives from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, the information you submit, or your breach of this policy or applicable law.

Our rights and governing law

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app, website, or services at any time, and may suspend or terminate any account at our discretion and without liability, including where we reasonably suspect misuse or a breach of this policy. We may use aggregated and de-identified information to operate, analyse, and improve our services. This policy and any dispute relating to it or the services are governed by the laws of Jamaica, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
